SciFi and Fantasy have always been outlets for the dreamers, the forward thinkers, those who were willing to say...what if? For those of us who long for adventure on alien soil, and those who are just a little impatient for the "real" world to catch up with the many possibilities our minds present to us every day. Both SciFi and Fantasy allow us to take these possibilities and engage with them, fleshing them out into plausible characters that we can relate to, expanding our universe just a little bit with every story. In a way, I think that SciFi and Fantasy encompass the perfect blend of science, art, and storytelling.

For a long time, those of us who resonate with a wonderful tale have been accused of escapism and not being content with the "real" world. I would challenge that judgement because I have seen that the "real" world is a marvellous and wondrous place, but only for those who have the eyes to see...
